AIR NEWS - 2004 AIR Grants Program (DEADLINE: JANUARY 15, 2004)

The 2004 Grants Guidelines are now available. There are Research Grants of up to $30,000 and Dissertation Fellowships of up to $15,000, the new AIR/NPEC Focused Grants on student success range from up to $15,000 (for dissertation fellowships) and up to $30,000 for other activities, and 50 Fellowships for the NSF/NCES Summer Data Policy Institute. The DEADLINE to submit a proposal for the 2004 AIR Grants Program is JANUARY 15, 2004. AIR has started a monthly electronic newsletter for Affiliated Groups. All liaisons will receive a copy and should then make it available to other members of the group. Please take a few moments to read this newsletter and send your ideas, information, news, and requests to Gail Fishman (gfishman@mailer.fsu.edu). Some institutions have or are going to implement programs to weed out SPAM e-mail. Unfortunately, the Electronic AIR, as routed through a listserv, could be rejected by these programs. If your institution has plans to implement this safeguard measure and you would like to continue to receive Electronic AIR newsletter via email, please add Electronic AIR to your acceptable list of your SPAM filter.
NEWS - SCUP's Second Annual CFI Kicks Off January 15, 2004

SCUP's kicking off the data collection period for its 2004 Campus Facilities Inventory (CFI). This is the second year that SCUP has collected space data about higher education institutions. You can view the data collection instrument and download a complimentary copy of the 2003 CFI Report's executive summary at http://www.scup.org/knowledge/cfi/.

Institutions which participate in the survey receive a set of the raw data for their own use later in the year. Please urge the appropriate people on your campus to participate in and provide data to the 2004 CFI.

This new NCES report 'Enrollment in Postsecondary Institutions, Fall 2001 and Financial Statistics, Fiscal Year 2001' presents findings from the Spring 2002 Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) web-based data collection. Data were requested from over 6,600 postsecondary institutions participating in Title IV federal student financial aid programs. The tables in this publication present enrollment data for fall 2001, financial statistics for fiscal year 2001, and student financial aid data for academic year 2000-2001.
